Nutanix Global Tech Summit EMEA 2019 - Takeaways

I had the great privilege of attending the Nutanix Tech Summit for the EMEA Region in Barcelona a few weeks ago as @TeraSky representative.
For the first time, Nutanix made the decision to allow a small selection of partners to join the Tech Summit which is traditionally an internal conference for the SEs of Nutanix. TeraSky was invited as a leading partner for Nutanix in Israel
The Conference was from Monday evening until Thursday afternoon and was amazing.
The Tech Summit is a very technical based conference where the main goal is to sync everyone with the new products and features Nutanix is offering today to its customers and those that they will be offering soon.
Nutanix’s Product Portfolio over the recent years has grown tremendously, and they have begun to really emerge as a leading company with a full stack solution and not “just” a great HCI solution.
During the conference there were 20 different labs with at least one for each of the products in Nutanix’s offerings. They were truly amazing labs. The labs gave you an insight into the capabilities of the products and gave you the ability to really understand what the product is, why it is needed and most importantly how it is done.
Being as happy as I was with the quality of the labs and the benefit that I believe they offered I had the honor of being the only attendee at any of the Nutanix Tech Summits this year (America, APAC, EMEA) to successfully complete all 20 labs.
The move Nutanix made of inviting partners this year I believe was a great and very beneficial decision for both the Partners and Nutanix. I personally learned an enormous amount at the conference by hearing and learning first hand from the Product teams as well as the SMEs and SEs from the region about the different products. I know that many partners that were at the Summit had the same feelings. I also had some amazing conversations with SEs from all over the region who said that having the time with the partners was very beneficial from there side as well because the view of the field is very different between the vendor and a partner and they found the conversations very beneficial as it opened them up to the ideas, suggestions, complaints and praises coming from another perspective.
During the Conference There was also the ability to compete in a Hackathon. The Teams that competed in the hackathon presented their final product on Thursday morning to the whole conference.
The different groups had some unique and creative ideas and it was great to see the creativity of the people at the conference as well as the amazing cooperation between the partners and the Nutanix employees where in almost all teams there was a mixture of the two.
The moves Nutanix is making recently in the products they are offering is quite extraordinary and I am very impressed with how much they have been able to accomplish in such a good way and in such a short period of time.
I had the privilege to really dig deep into Nutanix Calm (Nutanix’s Cloud Management Platform), Nutanix EPOCH (monitoring tool), Nutanix X-PLAY (event driven actions within Prism Central) and Nutanix Karbon (Nutanix’s Enterprise ready Kubernetes solution) which went GA during the conference.
Nutanix Calm is a truly unique product with a very fresh and unique perspective on how a CMP should look and feel and I was very impressed with the product and its large set of capabilities while remaining very simple and elegant. The ease of learning this product is a truly remarkable thing considering the complexity of the other solutions in the market today.
Now that I am back home, I am looking forward to working together with Nutanix on implementing these amazing products that Nutanix has developed for our customers. The fresh approach Nutanix brings to the table is an amazing thing to see in the Tech world today and I personally am very excited to see what is coming next.
